It looks like our brothers at Lamda Lamda Lamda are in for quite a treat. Will Ferrell is hitting the road with some comedic amigos and will be storming college stages to promote Semi-Pro. We get word of this majestic tour thanks to the professionals at Variety:
Will Ferrell and a trio of up-and-coming comics are hitting the road in support of New Line’s “Semi-Pro,” launching a multicity college standup tour linked to his FunnyorDie website.
Thesp will headline seven shows over three weeks in February, teaming with leading standups Zach Galifianakis, Demetri Martin and Nick Swardson. Event, dubbed “Will Ferrell’s Funny or Die Comedy Tour Presented by Semi-Pro,” will kick off Feb. 4 in Kansas City and serve as a promotional run-up to the Feb. 29 release of the pic.
In addition to tubthumping “Semi-Pro,” event will also help hype FunnyorDie, which will have a video crew tagging along throughout the tour.
This is a great way to promote the film. Having Will Ferrell in front of a college crowd is going to be flat out awesome. Those of us that are unable to see the magic in person may view the hi-jinx through the popular laughter portal known as FunnyorDie. I personally consider the Will Ferrell years to be the funniest SNL streak ever, and always look forward to everything the man does. I would watch him tenderly bathe the terminally ill with immense delight.
