In the weekly installment of must see movies of the week, the week of May 16 delivers two solid choices for home release. This weeks must see movie picks that are out on Blu-ray, DVD, Digital and VOD are these two particular movies. Listen to the audio for a full recap of my thoughts:
XXX: THE RETURN OF XANDER CAGE:
Vin Diesel is back with the franchise. After 15 years away, the return of Xander Cage was necessary to revive the franchise. The cool thing about XXX is that it was an originator of sorts. You really saw all sorts of extreme and innovative action and techy gadgets, which has been incorporated by movies like the Fast and the Furious franchise. Return of Xander Cage offers more of the familiar over-the-top adrenaline pumping action. Diesel doesn’t miss a beat. There are some really cool scenes and you’ll see some badass use of a skateboard. This is definitely the most entertainingly fun movie release of the week.

THE SPACE BETWEEN US
Asa Butterfield, Britt Robertson and Gary Oldman star in this story of a 16-year-old space boy who seeks to return to earth and discover his origins. The movie offers a bit of everything. A sweet tale of love, Sci-Fi space adventure and a coming-of-age story. I’m a big fan of space themed movies and I found this one to be enjoyable. Love is really at the center of this film, with the space and earth theme in the background. It’s a movie about discovering your identity and the meaning of what is “home”. The Blu-ray offers some neat bonus features.
