**Sorry guys. The tight asses over at Paramount and Movieweb sent us threatening sounding letters demanding we take the Crystal Skull image down, you know, instead of just dropping us a note and politely asking for us to take it down… after all… they’re ok with the 10,000 other images we put up to promote their stuff… if one happens to be one they don’t want up, heaven forbid they act courteous and just ASK us to take it down instead of getting a lawyer to threaten us… maybe it’s just the Canadian in me)**
Bright and early we got a tip from Joel G showing us the first look at Indiana’s Crystal Skull itself.
ActionFigureInsider uncovered a promotional flyer from a Japanese company which is producing a variety of trinkets for the Indiana Jones series (including miniature versions of the holy grail and the lost ark). Among the group of items is what appears to be the first look at the Crystal Skull.
Now Slashfilm got the image from MovieWeb and they are calling it a spoiler because people fear the “aliens” storyline suggested in Darabont’s treatment.
I think it simply looks like a stylized human skull. Maybe even demonic. Might even be alien, but frankly who cares? If its handled right is it any less unreal than biblical artifacts or the stone from the temple of doom? They all had their scifi/fantasy unrealism to them too, so why are people getting bent about including the existence of aliens in a pulp adventure world where a gold box full of ghosts melts the skin off of Nazis?
Do you think they are jumping the gun about the alien storyline? Is this just a stylized chimpanzee skull used in ancient rituals?
(EDITOR’S NOTE – I’m not sure how some people consider a picture of a Crystal Skull in a movie called “Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” a spoiler. That being said, this image is already being set to be used in marketing and merchandising campaigns for the film, so fear not, it’s not a spoiler)
