It looks like Guy Pierce has made a quality life decision and has decided to work on the post apocalyptic movie The Road! We get the scoop from the moviehole:
Australian duo Guy Pearce and Kodi Smit-McPhee (“Romulus, My Father”) have joined the cast of “The Road” based on the Pulitzer Prize winning novel, “The Road” by Cormac McCarthy. Bloody Disgusting hears that Robert Duvall may also be part of the cast. A father and his son walk alone through burned America. Nothing moves in the ravaged landscape save the ash on the wind. It is cold enough to crack stones, and when the snow falls it is gray. The sky is dark. Their destination is the coast, although they don’t know what, if anything, awaits them there. They have nothing; just a pistol to defend themselves against the lawless bands that stalk the road, the clothes they are wearing, a cart of scavenged food–and each other
YES!!!! I love post apocalyptic films and this one sounds awesome. When shit goes bad – YOU ALWAYS HEAD T OTHE OCEAN! This was the goal in the Road Warrior, this is the goal of this movie, and it makes perfect sense. Most of the world’s population lives along the coast because it is rife with living things, and sans electricity, the beach is still bitchin’.
If Robert Duvall joins this cast it will just heap loads of goodness on an already awesome announcement. I am very pumped about this and certainly look forward to checking it out when it is upon us. We will be sure to keep you afloat of any updates!
