You ever find something out that EVERYONE already knew about like 4 months ago and you wonder to yourself “how the heck did I not know this?”. Well, I just ran into one of these. Apparently the cast for the upcoming Fantastic Four movie (filming even as we speak) have all signed on to do 3 Fantastic Four films. What really makes me feel stupid is that fact that we’ve probably got that info posted here on The Movie Blog somewhere already. I am clearly not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
Chris Evans talked with the USA Today about the new films and the direction his career has taken. Here’s an excerpt:
Evans has signed on for three Fantastic Four films as playboy Johnny Storm, aka the highly combustible Human Torch. The previous night’s scene found Evans with the other three members of his Fantastic Foursome ‚Äî Michael Chiklis (The Thing), Jessica Alba (Invisible Girl) and King Arthur’s Ioan Gruffudd (Mr. Fantastic) ‚Äî quarantined on Earth after being exposed to a massive particle cloud in space. “That’s how we all get our powers,” Evans says.
What Evans was most drawn to about the quartet is that they are all flawed. “At first, we’re all kind of clumsy with our powers, hurting ourselves and potentially other people, until the big battle with Dr. Doom (Nip/Tuck’s Julian McMahon) in the end when we get our powers under control. It’s our first unified stand as the Fantastic Four.”
