Shane Black is directing Iron Man 3 since Jon Favreau instead opted to direct “The Magic Kingdom” for Disney. That’s old news. Today we find out that even though Shane Black is an accomplished writer, he won’t be having a hand in the script for Iron Man 3.

Drew Pearce is best know as the writer of, well, nothing. At least not in the way of movies. He has done some British television. Shane Black on the other hand is responsible for writing some of the best action movies of all time, in the form of all four Lethal Weapon movies. He also scripted The Last Boyscout and the underrated movie The Long Kiss Goodnight. Oh and he wrote Kiss, Kiss, Bang Bang, one of the best written movies of the past decade. But he won’t be writing Iron Man 3, just directing. This Drew Pearce guy either has one heck of an idea, or Black just didn’t want the gig.
Who is this Drew Pearce guy anyway? He must have a helluva idea for Marvel to choose him over Black, especially if things continue in the direction that the previous director started. I’m a little apprehensive regarding the direction of a third Iron Man movie. Why? Because the franchise has shown very little in the form of stability and a lack of that makes me nervous.
i find this movie a lot like the spider man franchise, tony and pepper and his moral obligation to her IMO
Who’s Drew? He wrote the BBC sitcom No Heroics, which landed him the job to write the script for The Runaways -a yet unproduced Marvel property- which in turn got him Iron Man 3.
From what I read so far on the story, there is still a chance that Peearce will co-write with Black.
This kind of sounds like another April fools joke. It just sounds so comical that way it reads about that this Drew Pearce person not knowing… uh… ANYTHING!
I think that part 3 should have Stark fighting different enemies besides armored foes again, The only other armored foe I wished to have seen was Crymson Dynamo instead of whiplash. we wasted Mickey’s accent on him whem it woulda suited Crymson waaaay better.

Just use a straggler villan from the Avengers Rouge’s gallery and pepper in some Avenger Cameos and link them all up “Infinity Gauntlet” style.
Puzzling news indeed. Even if this dude has a good idea doesn’t mean he gets to write it, here’s some money thanks for the idea! Shane Black is obviously available and not writing it, I would love to hear the reasoning behind this
